In the dying moments, unbridled joy erupted for Chelsea and interim manager Calum McFarlane as Enzo Fernández forced home a dramatic equaliser. The goal left Pep Guardiola in a state of despair and provided the stand-in Chelsea manager a unforgettable moment. On paper, Guardiola versus McFarlane represented the Premier League's greatest managerial mismatch in class, making the recollection of Fernández's pivotal intervention one to warm the 40-year-old in his dotage.

A Glaring Contrast in Pedigree

On the home bench was the generation's pre-eminent figure, a man with an unparalleled CV for football's giants Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Manchester City, overseeing his 1,012th match.
